How to find an NFT contract address and token ID
Open the exact item’s details, record its network, contract address and token ID, then compare the collection mapping with an official project source.
Worked example
| Step | Read | Verify |
|---|---|---|
| Item details | Chain, contract, ID | Do not copy owner field |
| Official project | Published contract or official collection link | Variant and network match |
| Explorer | Full contract and item record | ID and ledger correspond |
Use a specific item page
A collection homepage groups items and may not show a token ID. Open the individual asset details. A transaction page can include many transferred assets, so inspect the token transfer entry rather than copying the transaction hash.
Cross-check the identity chain
Start from a project-owned website or repository. If it links to a marketplace, compare the linked collection’s underlying address with the explorer. A name, image or marketplace badge alone is weaker than an exact published mapping.
Common pitfalls
- No seed phrase or signing step is needed to inspect public details.
- A collection can have related or migrated contracts. Keep the variant label.
